We recently completed a challenging yet rewarding project at a commercial loading dock in a downtown Edmonton highrise tower. Our team at SHARC® removed the old loading dock crash doors and installed new hollow metal doors equipped with fully automatic swing door operators that comply with AAADM specifications—a courier’s dream!
One of the unique aspects of this installation was utilizing the existing door frame designed for double-acting doors. We fabricated and installed custom frame stops to prevent the doors from swinging in both directions. Hanging custom-sized doors onto the existing frame without proper hinge preps was another challenge we overcame with precision using full-surface continuous hinges.
This project featured state-of-the-art BEA Flatscan 3D’s and Eagle activation sensors, ensuring the highest level of accessibility and efficiency. There are no manual activation push buttons or wave sensors here!
Simply approach the doors from either direction to have them automatically activate.
