About

Hello and Welcome to my website!

The sample of buildings and sketches I’ve posted will give a good idea of the kinds of projects I’ve been working on recently.

A bit of background…IĀ graduated from the University of Toronto in 1987 with a Bachelor of Architecture…In 1989 I arrived in Vancouver where I worked for various architectural firms on large entertainment, sports and industrial complexes… In 1995 I moved to Gibsons, B.C. (home of “The Beachcombers”… located about 1hr. from Vancouver on theĀ  Sunshine Coast), where I started my own practice.

Since then I’ve had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, big & small, such as the Blackfish Pub, and it’s Beer and Wine store, a veterinary clinic, a dental office, a couple of golf clubhouses, a bank, warehouses, a small mall, a music camp, and approximately 80 (I lost count) custom homes, as well as a few “clustered” townhouse complexes, and apartment buildings.

I do enjoy practicing architecture…when my kids were small they thought their daddy had the best job because I “got to draw pictures all day”…now who can argue with that logic… For me, architecture is such a fulfilling profession in so many ways; from the onset when planning a project, to the creative expression involved in developing the concepts, and the on-going sequence of problem solving at each unique step of the way, and not least, watching all of the ideas and work evolve into a real building. It is a very satisfying feeling, when someone’s “dream home” starts to take shape, and all the years of thought that they have often put in, become realized. At the end of the day, it’s all about the client, so basically I like to function as a facilitator during the design process, bringing in my skills and experience to help my clients achieve their program goals and requirements in the most economical, practical, efficient and environmentally sensitive way.

So, I hope you enjoy what you see here…and do drop by again, as I am constantly “tinkering” with this site and adding pictures. Also feel free to comment…I’d appreciate the feedback.
